One of the worlds most deadly and powerful tsunami happened on December 26th, 2004. What caused this terrible event was a section of the Earth’s crust called the India was trying to slide under another section called Burma. Unfortunately these plates got stuck and built up pressure, and on that day all that pressure finally released. When the report came out saying that they suspected an earthquake it took about 2 hours to inform people that this terrible event is happening.
Theme: The theme of the 2004 tsunami is region. The theme region is represented because the tsunami affected people near the Indian Ocean (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, ext). The people who were affected by the tsunami are still being affected today. The people are affected by being homeless and need food.

Current Issues:This issue of the tsunami affected the environment and especially us. When the terrible storm hit us it caused catastrophe to our home and killed countless lives. The great waves make island that got hit, almost shrunk twice the size they were. Today it is still affecting us, many of those that suffered are still homeless, some have no family, and others on the street begging for change. We are giving and building homes to people that lost theirs in the terrible tsunami. We should care because we do not want people to be suffering and have no where to go. Also we should care because we don't want a country that helps support the worlds financial needs go down. Due to the fact that we didn't want to help them in their time of need.
