2. One of the biggest problems Venice is facing is that it’s dramatically sinking and is said to be submerged completely by the end of the century. With the end of every century, an inch of Venice disappears. As the Alps rise and Venice sinks, the African plate pushes under the European plate. What makes matters worse is that with global warming, it raises the sea level much faster. Some solutions were separating the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea or raising the sidewalks and shores. They might be able to them if there’s a lot of money contributed into helping Venice. Although it might be hard with the sea level rising and the plates continuously moving.

3. Since Venice used floodgates to prevent flooding, we could use them here in the US, in areas where it gets heavily flooded to prevent disasters from happening like loss of lives and homes.

4. It shows both negative and positive human-environmental interaction. Positive is that everyone is trying to save Venice from turning into Atlantis. They have all these ideas, but are these enough to save Venice, not including the cost. Negative is that global warming is adding onto to their problem and in which global warming is increasing because of us not recycling and polluting the environment.
1. It shows human environment interaction because as China’s population rises, the same goes with pollution.

2. As the articles quotes, “The U.S. embassy said earlier this week that the thick smog covering Beijing had gone “beyond” measurable pollution levels.” It’s interesting that they know the pollution is beyond believable and that it hasn’t gone down at all ever since. It just keeps going, going, and going. Out of all the people in China, they haven’t even tried to lower the levels. They know their pollution is bad, but what are they doing nothing.

3. This is such a negative human environment interaction because it’s so obvious that there’s so much smog that it’s dangerous to even live, not to mention breathe it. Pollution adds to global warming, which is killing the earth and the polar bears. It’s so obvious the article quotes, “Obviously elderly people and children should not go outside,”. Wow big surprise there.

4. Why should I care you ask, well because I want to live a full life on the planet and not just die early from pollution. Wouldn’t that stink to know to hear at your funeral people asking ‘how did they die.’ And someone replies ‘Oh they died from pollution.’ Isn’t that the lousiest way to die.
