\nSumeria was where southern iraq is now, it was a collection of city states at the bottom of the tigris and euphretes.The floods of the rivers in sumeria were random, not at the same time, like egypt.The history of sumer was divided into 4 periods, the uruk, the Jemdet Nasr Period, the Akkadian Period -- Ur III Period, and another one that I cant find the name of.3800 to 3200 BC was the period in wich most urbanization happened.The sumarian language is now extinct, meaning that no one speaks it anymore.","dateCreated":"1282919760","smartDate":"Aug 27, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"cward1996","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/cward1996","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1318513523\/cward1996-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"26418403","body":"

\n pharaoh was the most powerful person in egypt, he was the religious and political leader of egyption people. The pharaohs went to war if they want to gain land or thier land was being threated. If they win the war the people who lost the war had to recognise the pharaohs and they have to give them the best thing they got in their land. The ancient Egyptians built pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs and their queens. The pharaoh were buried in the pyramids.","dateCreated":"1282919761","smartDate":"Aug 27, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"smeyer1994","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/smeyer1994","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1282918485\/smeyer1994-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"26418407","body":"

\n One thing that I learned is that they lived in small houses and built their homes partially underground to help keep them warm. I think this is interesting because I thought that they would have lived in pretty large houses because they were very ahead if their time when it comes to technology.I also learned that the nobles were allowed to have more than one wife, while the common people could only have one. Another thing I learned is that the characters that they used to write with were split in half. One part for the meaning of the word and another for the pronunciation of the word.","dateCreated":"1282919781","smartDate":"Aug 27, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"nstephan1996","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/nstephan1996","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1282919969\/nstephan1996-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"26418439","body":"

\nI found it interesting that the Sumerians influenced the civilization to the north, the Babylons. They also influenced Egypt by sea routes from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea. When their name is spoken of in modern day, they are mostly remembered for their writings. The writings were mostly found in ruins of Babylon and citied nearby.

\nBabylonians lived about 7000 years ago by the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Babylonains were mostly farmers who set up irragation between the two rivers to water their crops. Farmers mostly grew vegables and grains, which must have been hard beacause the weather was hot and dry. They made bricks out of sun dried clay,because they didn't get many raw materials, and most of the building were made of the clay bricks. The babylonians were very skillful in art, and made wonderful temples.","dateCreated":"1282920012","smartDate":"Aug 27, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"awilliams1996","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/awilliams1996","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":11}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
